The WEG Committee have been campaigning on several road safety issues locally, to help make our streets safer to walk and cycle around.
Community Climate Action
Winterbourne and Frome Valley Environmental Group is a Climate Action Group.
Wildflower meadow on the Small Common at Whiteshill, Hambrook
The group worked with Winterbourne Parish Council to agree a plan to turn part of the Small Common into a wildflower meadow with the aim of improving local biodiversity as well as improving local amenity and providing opportunities to increase ecological awareness.
Share and Repair Cafe
Winterbourne and Frome Valley Environmental Group runs a monthly Share and Repair Café in association with All Saints Church in Winterbourne Down.
Plastic Reduction
Disposable plastic plates and glasses were a familiar sight before and during the pandemic, but WEG is working with Winterbourne Down Carnival and local community halls to take them off the menu.
The Dingle Nature Reserve Working Parties
Looking after one of our local nature reserves, making it a great location to observe and learn about local plants and wildlife, allowing access for us all to enjoy it!
River Frome and Bradley Brook BART Beacon
We are BART Beacon contacts for our local parts of the River Frome and Bradley Brook reporting issues and opportunities for improvements.
